Here's some recent videos--the one of Stetson on the slide is from today--it was beautitful today...I can't wait for spring. The bottom one was from like a week ago--I'm not sure why these are in black & white..I must have messed something up on my camera. Have a great weekend.

O.K. so I might have had a little spare time on my hands today and got a little carried away with the look alike meter. I re-did the one with Stetson 3 times (using different pics of Michael and I every time), but every time it said Stetson looked more like me (first by 4%, then 9%, then 7%). Crazy, because I don't see it. It was fun anyway.

Is my son a genius?
Disclaimer-I don't really think my son is a genius, but he does surprise us sometimes.
So, Stetson has done this twice. When he's poopy, he brings me the wipes, so I can change him, I'm assuming. Its so cute. I don't know if its just a coincidence or what. What do you think?
Right now I'm watching "Jon & Kate plus 8." A show on TLC featuring a family who has a set of twins and sextuplets. Watching it makes me feel so weak, because I get overwhelmed with just Stetson, and this lady has 8 kids under the age of like 10. It stresses me out just watching it. Right now Stetson is ripping a paper towel into as many peices as possible. Its one of his favorite things to do.
Here's some others:
Stetson's favorite things to do:
- play with the dishwasher (taking silverware out, hitting other things with it)
- reading with mom (this is his newest thing..I mean he's always loved being read to, but now we have to hide his books because he'll get his favorite book and bring it to us, and after about 20 (not even kidding) times of me reading it to him, I set the book down and he goes and gets it and insists on being read to, or else throws a fit
- taking his bath--he could sit in there forever playing
- playing with silverware (I know when he's done eating when I try to feed him and he grabs the spoon/fork. He loves to hit his tray with it and pretty much make a huge mess)
- pulling clothes out of drawers/laundry baskets
- looking at himself in the mirror
- playing with the the laptop. This should be at the top of the list because he LOVES doing this. When I'm sitting down checking email/blogs or whatever, he walks up to me, opens his eyes as wide as he can and makes this "me me me" sound (in between deep breaths, pretty dramatic). Then I put him on my lap and he tries pushing buttons 'til I can't stand it anymore
- picking up rocks in our "back yard" and handing them to me or Michael
- pulling the towels down from the handle on the oven
- sucking on pens
- watching teletubbies
- pushing buttons on the tv
- pushing any buttons
- playing with my cell phone (another one that should be at the top of the list)
- stacking his blocks
- sitting on my lap
Well you can probably tell I'm bored. Stetson's asleep, Michael just got home from his mkat prep class, so I need to go get ready for bed. Am I the only one who hates getting ready for bed?

State Wrestling
So, we got back from Casper today. We went to watch Michael's little brother, Jared, grapple in the state wrestling tournament. It is really cool, because its TOTALLY different (obviously) from state basketball (which is whate I'm used to), and I had never been to a state wrestling tournament until Michael's other brother, Daniel, was a senior, which was a couple years ago, so it was fun to go again. So when you first walk into the events center, the whole floor is covered with 9 mats, and wrestlers EVERYWHERE, trying to stay warm, so they're jogging in place, dancing around and wrestling their teammates. Its CRAZY. Friday they had 1st round, quarter finals, 1st round wrestle backs (whatever that means, I'm just typing word for word what Michael tells me) and them semi-finals. Jared lost in the 1st round on Friday and won in the first round of wrestle backs. On Saturday he lost in the 2nd round of wrestle backs. Eventually I'm going to have to figure all this out (points, names of moves, etc.) since afterall I DID marry a wrestler, and wrestling will probably be a part of our lives, even though I'm sure our kids will play bball. :-) (not if Michael has anything to do with it) Its so funny because I'll just be sitting there watching, and suddenly everyone starts cheering and yelling and I'm like, "WHAT? WHAT HAPPENED?" Because I don't understand wrestling and I don't know when someone does a good thing. :) One of these days I'll figure it out. One of the coolest things about the tourney is the "march of champions." (there's a pic of it below) Its where all the teams march around the floor holding a banner with their mascot and high school name. After all the high schools march in, the state champions from the previous year march in holding a Wyoming state flag. Anyway, we got to see Michael's mom and brother and stay in a hotel Friday night. The hotel had a pool and hot tub, so that was really fun. Stetson loves the water. Saturday we went to see my friend Kim, so that was fun too. Her and her husband, Danen just bought a house in Casper and are fixing it up, so we got to tour it and catch up. Well here's some pics. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

blocks...
Well I know Grandmas and Grandpas appreciate the videos, so I posted one. We had a fun day today. Michael got done with classes at 10 am today, so he got to hang out with us until I left for my step class at noon, then I came back and had lunch, played with Stetson until his 3:00 nap, then we went to Applebees for dinner with Matthew, (Michael's bro), Charlene (Matthew's friend) and Cal & Mandy Bullock, who have a 13 month old little girl, so that was fun. Its fun to see other kids Stetson's age to see how they compare to Stetson. She was adorable. ANYWAY, Mandy asked what I got my degree in, and I said health ed, and she was like, oh so are you really healthy? I told her I'm pretty good about exercising (teach fitness classes on campus) but that I could improve in my eating habits..I proceeded to tell her I orderd chicken fingers and fries...ha ha. Michael got a rice bowl with chicken and vegetables, which was pretty good. I woke up with a sore throat a couple days ago, and it gets better during the day, then comes back at night, but its probably been the worst today. Michael says when I laugh I sound like a 13 year old boy going through puberty because my voice squeeks. I actually sound like a man when I talk though. But I haven't lost my voice (I actually haven't ever in my whole life, even though I always wanted to just to know what it was like, weird I know). Anyway, I'm crossing my fingers that noone else in my house gets it. Have a great day.

Valentine's Day
Here's me, Steton and Oprah. Steston and I were very festive in our red clothes. I thought Michael would jump on the bandwagon too, but he wore yellow instead.
Happy Valentine's Day! Here's what we did: Michael left me a sweet note where I could see it before he left for school today, then at lunch time, Stetson and I went and picked him up and went to Wingers. I had their deluxe chicken sandwich and it might have been the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. It was delish. They have an amazing sauce that is to die for that they put on their wings and sandwiches. Michael had a hamburger. Then we went to Wal-mart where Michael picked up some things for the delicious dinner he fixed me tonight. After I dropped Michael off for his afternoon classes, I checked the mail and got the annual Valentine's Day card from my dad. Ever since I was a little girl, he's gotten me a Valentine's Day card. When I would come home from school, there would be a pink card with my name on it in capital letters sitting on my pillow, sometimes with chocolates or something. But that's not what mattered, what mattered is that I had a dad that did this for me every year and I knew he loved me!! After that, Stetson took his 3:00 nap I and made Valentine cookies. When Michael came home he fixed us a really good Valentine's Day dinner (steak, baked potato with all the fixings, salad, corn and welch's sparkling grape juice (so good). And tonight he said he's going to give me a 30 minute back rub. Wew hoo!! Well that is our Valentine's Day!! Everyone tell me what you did. Oh, and I got something for Michael, too. I got a bunch of his favorite treats, like squeeze cheese and wheat thins, (got that idea from Michael's mom) hot chocolate packets, kool-aid packets (remember he loves drinks AND we're poor college students) chips and salsa, pop, m&m's and a card and had them laid out when he came downstairs this morning with a sign taped on the wall saying "happy valentine's day Michael" and balloons.

Life in Laramie
Last Saturday we took Stetson outside for a little while because it was so nice! As you can see, most of the snow is melted. Then it was nice on Sunday too (always is), then yesterday (Monday) it snowed ALL day. I went to Wal-mart last night for groceries and as I was walking back to my car, pushing my cart through the snow, unloading my groceries in 22 degree weather, then scraping pure ice off my windshield, I asked myself, "why do I live in Wyoming again?" I'm just a wimp, I know this to be true. My husband will second that. Its this time of year that I long for California, and any state that doesn't get much snow for that matter. Well enough of my whining. At least I don't have to ride a bike through it. (Michael rides his bike to school every day) I just can't believe he hasn't biffed it yet. Maybe he has, he just doesn't want me to know. :-) When I was attending college in Rexburg (also known as Iceburg) me and my roommates had a "biff chart" during winter with all our names and every time we "ate it" we put a tally under our name. We had to walk through a huge icy parking lot to get from our complex to campus, and it was like the death pit because it was so easy to fall. I remember falling there once, and it felt like I did 2 flips in the air I fell so hard. :( As sad as it is though, it was really funny, too. The best is when you see someone trip and then they start running so it looks like they didn't trip. Stetson's sleeping so I'm going to keep rambling on.
Michael is speaking in church a week from this Sunday on "The need for repentance." Interesting topic, but a good one. He has been so busy with school. It feels like midterms. Yesterday he woke up at 4:30 to study for a test he had. Today he got up with Stetson at 6:05 and brought him downstairs to study. Its so weird, Stetson used to sleep until at least 7, sometimes almost 8, and now he's getting up much earlier.
Well we're all pulling for Jared (Michael's little bro) to make it to state wrestling this year so we can go to Casper and watch him wrestle. Plus it would be really fun to go to see everyone. One of the hardest things about living far from family is that they miss out on all the cute things your kids do. There's SO many times I'm home alone with Stetson, and he does something outrageously cute and I wish someone else could be there to witness it. My fav is when he's just happy as a clam walking all over the house making sounds like "da, da, da" at the TOP of his lungs. Well Stetson's awake now, so I'm off.

I heart you!!
Today has been pretty uneventful-- we had blueberry pancakes for breakfast, Stetson had his 10:00 nap and I headed off to the half acre and then washed the car (its finally above freezing so I can wash the car and the doors won't freeze shut!! yay!!) and came home. The best part of our day so far was getting a package!! Grandma Asay sent some cute goodies for Stetson's Valentine's Day. Stetson loved reaching his hand in the package and pulling stuff out. He's been walking around with 2 reeses's that were in the package ever since he got it. He bangs them together and sets them down and picks them up again. Well I got a really good recipe from my friend Cara's blog. Its called Mexican shepherd pie and its soo easy and really good. We made it last night. Here's the recipe:
Mexican Shepherd's Pie
1 lb. hamburger
1 onion, chopped
garlic salt, salt, and pepper to taste
1 packet taco seasoning
3/4 c. water
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can corn
1 cornbread muffin mix
cheese, grated
brown hamburger with onion, garlic salt, salt, and pepper. Add the water and taco seasoning. Add the corn and tomatoes; bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Transfer to a greased 9x13 dish. Prepare the cornbread mix according to the directions. Spread over the meat mixture in the dish and bake at 400 degrees for 18-20 minutes. Garnish with grated cheese, olives, and sour cream.

Random pictures
This is one of my favorite times of the day...sitting here enjoying the smell of a freshly mopped floor, Stetson sleeping and me checking/updating blogs. I don't know what I'm going to do when I have 2 (this isn't an announcement) and can't have a couple hours a day of "my time." I know you moms of 3 or 4 are laughing thinkning, "this girl doesn't have a clue" because I realize times like these are going to be very few and far between once we have more. Well here's some cute pictures we took yesterday.
- Yesterday Stetson had a playmate, Charlotte Erickson. Her and her parents live in our copmplex and ward and we love it when she comes to play because Stetson likes to play with someone other than his mom every now and then.
So I looked out my window this afternoon and saw this bunny rabbit just sitting outside my window...weird. I wonder if it belongs to someone in the comlex or if its just a runaway bunny. Weird...

Love is in the air...
Lauren Shumway filled this out on her blog and I
decided to do it too (and so should you).
What is his name? Michael Monk Asay
How long have you been together? been married 2 years
How long did you date? we met when we were juniors in high school, dated off and on until he left on his mission. He got back in April '04, we got engaged the next September, so like 3 is years?
How old is he?24
Who said I love you first? I told him I loved him in an email, so I guess I did
Who is taller? He is.
Who can sing better? well...me
Who is smarter? definitely him
Who does the laundry? I usually do, but he will if I ask him to
Who pays the bills? He usually does
Who sleeps in the right side? If you're standing at the foot of the bed, he does
Who mows the lawn? We don't have a lawn right now, but when we lived in our old house, I did. I like to do it
Who cooks dinner? Usually me, unless it's Wednesday. He cooks Sunday dinner a lot though, he loves to cook and is really good at it, so its all good with me :-)
Who drives? Usually him, but he'll ask me to sometimes if he doesn't want to
Who is more stubborn? Me for sure.
Who kissed who first? He kissed me first. it was the end of the summer and we just got done with a young single adults activity at slide rock and we went over to my brother's afterwards to play phase 10, and then walked over to his truck, he got in and I was standing there and we were talking for a while, and I was kind of hoping it would happen, but was too scared, so eventually he did. This was after he got back from his mission. We never kissed in high school
Who asked who out first? I did. I saw him for the first time during his high school's homecoming week and I thought, I think I could pull some strings and get this guy on a date with me...so me and my friend Shayla (this is what we always did when we liked someone) planned for a group of us to go to the bowling alley in Lovell and I called him and said something like..."a bunch of us are going to the bowling alley tonight, wanna come?" Pretty smooth, I know
Who proposed? He did. He drove me up to the top of the pryors and had fried chicken, potato salad, sparkling cider (He knows its my fav) and these fancy glasses his mom and dad got from their wedding years ago. His plan was to eat a picnic but it rained when we got there, so we ate in his ranger and then got out and he proposed to me (on one knee). Thinking back to all this reminds me that I must have one of the sweetest husbands in the world. He is SO sweet. I dont' deserve someone so nice.
Who has more friends? I don't know. I probably talk to mine mroe often and do more with mine more often but I think thats typical of the female gender. :-)
Who is more sensitive? Well, probably me, most girls are, but he is my tender heart and has feelings too :-)
Who has more siblings? He has 5 bros, I have 5 bros and a 1/2 sister, so me by a 1/2 lol
Who wears the pants? Like who calls the shots more? Probably me. I'm better at remembering things, organizing, planning, etc. Now I'm sounding bossy, but I am sometimes
Well thats that. Everyone who reads this should do the same. Just copy and past this into your blog and delete my answers and put yours. Its fun!!

New couch and variety express!!
So we finally got our new couch...Michael wanted it more than me, but now that we have it its really nice. It TOTALLY clashes with our green chair (forrest green) but oh well. One of these days maybe we'll be able to afford matching furniture. We originally had 2 couches downstarirs--one from Michael's great grandma that could have won the ugliest couch contest on Live with Regis and Kelly easily (I'm entering next year), and one Jill gave us. Matthew took the one Jill gave us and we moved the other one upstairs into Stetson's room so we can still have it for a hideabed when we have company.
Last night was my first night teaching "variety express." I was really nervous because I've never taught anything but step, but it went really well. There were about 8 other girls there. We did step the first 30 minutes and then did lower body the last half. My plan is to do some kind of cardio the first half every time, and then target a different area the last half (abs, arms, etc.). I am so grateful for the internet because I got almost all my ideas there. Michael helps me out too. Well, thats all for now, hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!!
