Happy Birthday Cannon!!

Happy 11th Birthday Cannon!! I can't believe that in 1 year you'll be in young men's and be able to pass the sacrament!! And 2 years after that you'll be able to go to church dances, and then 2 years after THAT you'll have your license and be able to DRIVE!! And DATE!! Well I'm probably freaking your parents out more than anything, but I want you to know I LOVE you and hope you have a great day.
P.S. I just want to make sure you know I uploaded this raiders template just for you, and I might get beat up or something because of it, but I hope you appreciate it!! :-)

President Hinckley

1910-2008
I am grateful for church leaders like President Hinckley who have paved the path for us and shown love and a Christ-like example. My favorite memory of President Hinckley was when I was attending college at BYU-Idaho (Ricks) and they dedicated the Gordon B. Hinckley building (where almost all my classes were). I watched the broadcast from the Performing Arts building, but I'll never forget how I felt when he spoke. During his talk he said something along the lines of, "I love you...(and then got choked up and you knew he meant it, and I felt like he was talking just to me)....I love you because I know you get down on your knees every night and pray to your Heavenly Father..."and thats what I remember the most. I LOVED it because like many of us do, I get so down on myself and feel like I'm not good enough and never will be, and feel so frustrated with my efforts, and his words gave me so much comfort and reassurance that I was doing "O.K." and that my efforts weren't going unnoticed. I know he was truly inspired by Heavenly Father and I'm grateful for him in my life!!

Fajitas and fish lips

These pictures were both taken last Sunday night. Jill (our sister in-law) gave us this awesome recipe for chicken fajitas, so we had those, beans, rice and homemade guacamole that Michael made. It was so good.
Well I'm trying to think if I have any exciting news...all the fitness instructors had a meeting on Wednesday and I got a new class--variety express on Thursday nights. So now I have 2 classes, which will be perfect. I was going to take another one (abs) but Michael has an mcat prep class that night, and Matthew couldn't watch him either because he has a class, buts its probably a good thing, because as soon as I walked in to teach an abs class, everyone would probably start laughing and walk out!! :) No seriously, they might. Its funny what happens to your stomach "muscles" (what little I had) after you have a baby. When I first started going to aerobics here in Laramie, they do like 5 minutes of abs at the end of every class, and they were doing like 100 sit ups I swear, and then all these different workouts for abs, and I was DYING!! I was seriously so embarrassed. I coudln't believe how hard it was to do.
Anyway, we took Stetson on a walk today because it was warmer (35 ish), but by the time we got ready, the wind was really blowing, so we bundled up our little man anyway and off we went. I can't WAIT until spring and summer when we can wear shorts and spend more time outside. The older Stetson gets, the more fun he is (interacts more, understands more, etc.), so I'm psyched when I think about kiddie pools, floaties, water "wings" and all other fun summer stuff. Anyway, tomorrow we're probably going to go watch Matthew cheerlead (I don't know who they're playing) and get a picture of him and Stetson.
Our couch is supposed to come a week from today. I'm nervous, because with the couches we have now, we don't really have to worry about kids jumping on them or Stetson spilling food, but with a new couch, we'll have to be more careful.
Well keep updating your blogs, and if you don't have one, get one!! I love hearing about whats going on in your lives. Have a great weekend!!

happenings...

just a couple of cuties...
Look at those muscles!!

Well its almost 9, Friday night, and I'm just sitting here kind of bored, so I thought I'd post something. Its Michael's night to give Stetson his bath so I'm actually really enjoying this free moment.

Our vacation from school/work is quickly approaching its end, but I have to admit I'm probably happier when I'm working and keeping busy. But we actually did a couple fun things this past week. Yesterday we took Stetson to the Laramie community center. Its brand new and they have an awesome facility. The pool is HUGE and it has a lazy river (is that what they're called?)Anyway, its when the water pulls you and you just kind of glide along. There was also a slide, a hot tub and lots of cool things for kids to play with in the pool. So we did that yesterday, and tonight we went to Applebees because Morgan and Fallon got us a gift card to go there. I got a 9 oz. sirloin with fries and veggies (pretty good other than they were really stingy with the fries, and I gotta have my fries. :) Michael got a Bourbon steak with spinach and fries (Michael got more than me) ANYWAY. School starts again for Michael on Monday and I'll start my aerobics class (I have my own this semester!!) at noon. I was supposed to have 2 classes a week, Mon and Wed, but Michael's schedule conflicted with my Wed class, so I'll teach one on Monday and then sub whenever needed. I'm a little nervous that I'll pass out (not really) during class this Monday though since I haven't been working out over the break (even though I told myself I would). Oh well, it'll be like high school bball practice after Christmas break. :-)
Tomorrow we might go to Cheyanne and buy a new couch. We have 2 right now--one used to be Michael's great grandma Burnham's and the other one Jill hooked us up with from an old relief society pres. Anyway, they're both pretty hashed and we figure we'll have more (much needed) space with just one new couch. Well thats all for now!! Hope you're all having a great weekend!!

me and Travy

So Michael and I have had a pretty crazy holiday season. We left for Lovell/Cowley Dec. 18th, the day after Stetson's bday, stayed with my dad a week, then with Asay's a week, came home New Year's Eve day, left for Morgan (my brother) and Fallon's wedding Jan. 3rd, and got home from that a few hours ago. I just have to say it is sooo good to be home ...again. :-) We had SUCH a good time in Salt Lake at Morgan's wedding. They got married in the Salt Lake Temple Friday, January 4th at 2:00. It was SOOOO wonderful to be there. It was a beautiful ceremony and I feel really lucky that I got to witness it. I love weddings. :-) It was me and Michael's first time in the Salt Lake Temple, so that was really neat to go in for the first time. Whenever I see the huge doors on the Salt Lake temple (see picture below) I automatically picture a bride and groom because it seems to be the classic wedding photo background. Probably because so many people I know have been married in the Salt Lake Temple. So I HAD to have a picture taken of Michael and I in front of the doors.

Anyway, we stayed at Michael's aunt Diane's home in Sandy. She has a beautiful home and it was fun to stay there and visit with her and her family. She watched Stetson during the ceremony, so that was way nice. Well I know all you care about is the pics...most of you have probably skipped this part anyway, but here's a bunch of pics from the wedding. Enjoy!!

Right after they came out....

We did some individual family portraits at the temple. Ben was being camera shy

Heather and Clay. She's like 5 feet and Clay's like 6'3 or something. Pretty cute, huh?? They have 4 kids but they weren't there for these pictures

The whole fam. Michael was going to get Stetson in Sandy, so that's why he's not in these pictures

me and my baby at the Joseph Smith Memorial bldg. He kind of looks like he's about to cry, huh?
Here's the whole fam...except for Joel (on mission) and Michael. He had bball games and couldn't make it

These are all Fallon's sisters and me. She had us all wear black dresses then gave us these pink scarf things. Cool idea, huh? I thought so.

4 generations... and Morgan

Here's my neice Elizabeth. She is a DOLL and I love her to death. She's Clay and Heather's oldest. It makes me sad that we don't get to see each other more often.

THE END!!
