Easter

As soon as the carpet was installed on Thur, we made a mad dash for COSTCO and then headed home for Cowley/Lovell.  We stayed with dad this time.  Mike n Todd and their families were all out of town and dad was feeding all their animals (fish, sheep, chickens) so dad took a different kid of mine with him each time to feed and they LOVED it.  Fri we went to see Shayla's new house and let the kids play, that night we dyed easter eggs at gpa Simmons.  Sat we went to Asays for a par-tay.   Uncle Christian put a Jerusalem cricket (big ugly nasty cricket) in one of the easter eggs gma Asay hid and Kandace Asay was the lucky winner.  She cried and said "there's a bee in my egg."  Funny stuff.  Christian gave her a dollar for it.  Pretty sweet.  We had hotdogs and then took lunch to Michael.  Seeing him that day was one of the highlights of my easter break.  He worked in Powell that weekend and I missed him.  Everything is better with him and I love him.

Easter Sunday we went to dad's church which is Cowley 1st ward now since the boundary changes.  We sat in front of ElRay and Ann Bridges.  Dad was in the choir seats.  The Bridges sure made us feel welcome and we chatted with them.  I loved going to that ward.  Nick Sponsel gave an awesome easter talk and the spirit was there which I was grateful for.  Helps me put everything in perspective and feel happy and grateful.
After dinner at dads we took a drive around the farm and went to Asays for dinner again.  Delish.  I love all the yummy food we get when we go home. I brought deviled eggs to Jans but we forgot about them 'til after dinner.  Whoops.
This girl loves chocolate icecream.  Oh my.

catchup

I dedicate this post to Michael Asay.  He likes to tell me to "make a blog" when I get behind, so here's some updates.  The top pic is of the kids putting a puzzle together telling them that their mom is having a baby.  Which is true.  :)  I'm due Sept 27.  Michael got a super cute video of them putting it together.  Maybe one day I'll try to upload it.  Probably not though.  The kids were super excited.  Stetson was confused though as to why we were telling him then when the baby isn't coming 'til Sept.   Funny how those little brains work.  I think Stetson has probably forgotten about by now though.  Kandace on the other hand tells everyone we see and is very sensitive to my stomach, making sure noone smooshes it or anything.  Jan through March was rough, I was sick all day, and to make matters worse, we'd just painted the upstairs and so I swear all I could smell or think about was paint for the 1st trimester and it made me so sick.  Even the sight of our new chevron comforter I bought to match the walls made me sick.  Michael thinks I'm crazy.  I feel way better now though.  I'm just trying to enjoy the short time thats left before I get uncomfortable.
A couple months ago during Michael's spring break we took a trip to the carpet barn on an off chance that their carpet was cheaper and that we could afford to get new carpet in our living room and the stairs going to the basement.  He gave us an estimate of $1300 which was way less than Lowes and Michael surprisingly said we should do it!!  I was over the moon, but knew we had lots of hoops to jump through before we could get it installed, which was a good motivator and helped us get things done.  Hoop 1: take the entertainment center out and mount the TV.  Hoop 2: move the computer desk downstairs which meant arranging for Michael's awesome classmates to help move stuff and have Charter come move our internet service downstairs. Hoop 3: paint.  Ugh.  Actually painting alone with Michael was pleasantly theraputic and less stressful than painting the upstairs.  Since we were getting  a darker carpet, we thought we should do lighter walls so we went to Lowes, picked out some paint samples, consulted my interior designer friend Melani and picked oatbran which is a cream basically.  We thought we'd leave the chocolate brown wall where the TV was because we thought it'd be good to have an accent wall and something to break up the oatbran.  Well we love the oatbran but after we got the carpet in we realized the chocolate brown wall and new carpet didn't compliment.  So we'll probably paint it oatbran too.  Yay for oatbran.

Thur morning the carpet guy came and I am totally in love.  New carpet makes EVERTHING look nice and new and its been such a treat.
Today Melani came over to help me decorate the walls.  Mostly she did it while I watched kids.  I'm actually her visiting teacher but she does way more for me than I do for her.  I'm going to have to do something about that.  Its so nice to have more room in the upstairs but now that the computer is downstairs I don't get on the computer very much which means I don't blog very much.
