funny faces, fine dining and fabulous fathers (and mothers..)

Well where to start...it was a fun-filled weekend for sure, starting with my 26th (oh man) birthday on Friday. In the morning I had a massage, for lunch Michael grilled hamburgers and fruit "kabobs", at 5:30 I went and had pedicures with Charlene and her sister Sam (that was actually for Charlene's bday but we wanted to do it before Sam left for the summer) and that evening Michael and I enjoyed my first night of fine dining at Altitude's. My 2nd night of fine dining was the next night in Cheyanne at an award's ceremony honoring the governor with the family values award; an award the public affairs dpt. of the church gives each year. My dad was invited and took me as his date. Let me tell you, it was fancy shmancy. I'd never been to the Little America, which is where it was held and I was blown away---the ladies room was bigger than our apartment which isn't saying a whole lot, but you get the idea. We first went into a small room where there were orderves (sp) and fancy drinks brought around by waiters. The first thing I told my dad when we went in was, "dad this is wwaaaaay out of my comfort zone." He smiled and said, "Mine too." After some visiting we were seated for dinner which was h-e-a-v-e-n. They served a delish caesar salad, then a main dish including salmon, the most tender steak I've ever had in my life and mixed veggies. Dessert was a lemon cake with rasberry sauce drizzled on top. Dad and I sat in between a cardiac surgeon from Cheyanne and the governor's administrative assistant and his wife. My dad got me a corsage to wear for the special event too so it was a pretty neat night. I wish I had pictures but I didn't take my camera.

For mother's day Michael gave me some $$ To spend on just myself when we went to Cheyanne Sat, so I bought some new clothes with that. Sunday morning Michael made pancakes, then quesidillas for lunch then shish kabobs with veggies and meat he'd been marinating for days. It too was delish. That morning I opened my bday present from my dad which was a quote by Joseph F. Smith he framed for me "The love of a true mother comes nearer being like the love of God than any other kind of love." And he gave me a copy of his journal entry the day I was born--loved it. The reason I included fabuluous fathers in my heading was because of all the sweet things Michael & my dad did for me. Michael was such a trooper having to put up with me on my bday then mother's day ony 2 days later. Thank you to EVERYONE for the well-wishes and sweet gifts for my bday. It means so much.

Well probably too much info, but that wraps up our weekend. Here's some pics to go with it.

how could I not include this?? This is how I find Kandace a lot of times after a nap or in the morning--arms out of her swaddle and thumb in mouth...we may have a thumb sucker. By the way this little angel turned 3 months yesterday.
the fruit-kabobs Michael grilled on my bday for lunch
Sam watched the kids on my birthday so we could go out to eat and when I came home I found Kandance sleeping peacefully in Sam's arms...so cute I had to take a pic
