I'm driving!

This is a video from when we were home a couple weeks ago...when the boys feed the cows they hook the trailor full of hay onto a truck and put the truck into low and just let it coast while they throw the hay off the back to the cows. Michael & Daniel put Stetson in the driver's seat and made him think he was driving.

Better later than never

****I'm thinking seriously about printing off my blog for a journal so a lot of stuff I put on here will be boring to most of you (besides fam) :)****

The top pic I stole from my brother Clay's blog. Its my gpa John's headstone in Santa Rosa, where he lived when he died. The only grandparent I ever really knew was my mom's mom, Yvonne Foulger. My other 3 lived far away or had already passed when I was born. The older I get the more interested I get in my grandparents' lives. I went as far as calling my great aunt Norma Foulger (my grandpa's sister) last year just to ask her random questions about my grandpa because I was so curious. He was a lot younger than her so she couldn't remember a ton, but she did say he was an "Awfully cute little boy everyone made a fuss over him" She said he was a scout, he always wanted a dog, their mom mom finally let him have a little black poodle, he took good care of the dog black Scottie, got ran over, he got another one.

My Grandma said he would always invite members (new, inactive, I’d imagine all kinds) to their home for Sunday dinner, she said John would teach Sunday school at Alcatraz and tell the prisoners that when their time was served, to find john and he would help them get their feet back on the ground, (employment) and one day one of them showed up on their doorstep and grandma was a little “taken back” until my gpa John exlained. :) she was Grandma said John was always doing “just one good thing after the next.” My gpa John served in WWII and had a lot of traumatic experiences I know and it was hard for him to talk about. I know he was a good man. My dad said when he was bishop he was always so good to the widows--always concerned about them and making sure they were taken care of. I hope to learn more about him and about my other grandparents.

on my mind

So there's this show on TLC I watch occasionally called Jon & kate plus 8. Its about a couple with twins and sextuplets, and you get to see some of their every day life and what it would be like to have multiples (really interesting I think) and I tuned in last night and saw that all the rumors and media headlines about them splitting up are true and it breaks my heart. Its really made me take a closer look at my marriage and want to try harder. I just keep thinking they (Jon & Kate) need to just kiss and make up but I realize its not that easy. I remember watching general conference like 5 years ago at one of my rooommates' homes in Dayton, ID. and the speaker was comparing marriage to this silverware set his wife had kept and preserved for years and years. At first I thought what the heck does silverware have to do with marriage but the longer I've been married the more I udnerstand...we have to take SUCH good care of our marriage, like you would take care of an antique or something. "Take care of" is an understatement, we have to treasure it and be ever so careful of everything we do and say. Anyway, I can't say how sad it makes me that they're thinking about splitting--its easy to get wrapped up I guess.

The simple life

Well it all started last Thursday. We had some friends over for shishkabobs (Michael's new thing) and they were way good. Then we went home the next day to look at housing and help his dad with the farm for the weekend. Michael didn't have to be back until Wed. morning to drive bus because he took a couple sick days but I wanted to stay and Michael was coming back Friday to help with cows ANYWAY, so he went back home and I've been here the whole time spending time with friends and family enjoying the good 'ol simple life in Wyoming. Here's some pics of our eventful week.

funny faces, fine dining and fabulous fathers (and mothers..)

Well where to start...it was a fun-filled weekend for sure, starting with my 26th (oh man) birthday on Friday. In the morning I had a massage, for lunch Michael grilled hamburgers and fruit "kabobs", at 5:30 I went and had pedicures with Charlene and her sister Sam (that was actually for Charlene's bday but we wanted to do it before Sam left for the summer) and that evening Michael and I enjoyed my first night of fine dining at Altitude's. My 2nd night of fine dining was the next night in Cheyanne at an award's ceremony honoring the governor with the family values award; an award the public affairs dpt. of the church gives each year. My dad was invited and took me as his date. Let me tell you, it was fancy shmancy. I'd never been to the Little America, which is where it was held and I was blown away---the ladies room was bigger than our apartment which isn't saying a whole lot, but you get the idea. We first went into a small room where there were orderves (sp) and fancy drinks brought around by waiters. The first thing I told my dad when we went in was, "dad this is wwaaaaay out of my comfort zone." He smiled and said, "Mine too." After some visiting we were seated for dinner which was h-e-a-v-e-n. They served a delish caesar salad, then a main dish including salmon, the most tender steak I've ever had in my life and mixed veggies. Dessert was a lemon cake with rasberry sauce drizzled on top. Dad and I sat in between a cardiac surgeon from Cheyanne and the governor's administrative assistant and his wife. My dad got me a corsage to wear for the special event too so it was a pretty neat night. I wish I had pictures but I didn't take my camera.

For mother's day Michael gave me some $$ To spend on just myself when we went to Cheyanne Sat, so I bought some new clothes with that. Sunday morning Michael made pancakes, then quesidillas for lunch then shish kabobs with veggies and meat he'd been marinating for days. It too was delish. That morning I opened my bday present from my dad which was a quote by Joseph F. Smith he framed for me "The love of a true mother comes nearer being like the love of God than any other kind of love." And he gave me a copy of his journal entry the day I was born--loved it. The reason I included fabuluous fathers in my heading was because of all the sweet things Michael & my dad did for me. Michael was such a trooper having to put up with me on my bday then mother's day ony 2 days later. Thank you to EVERYONE for the well-wishes and sweet gifts for my bday. It means so much.

Well probably too much info, but that wraps up our weekend. Here's some pics to go with it.

how could I not include this?? This is how I find Kandace a lot of times after a nap or in the morning--arms out of her swaddle and thumb in mouth...we may have a thumb sucker. By the way this little angel turned 3 months yesterday.
the fruit-kabobs Michael grilled on my bday for lunch
Sam watched the kids on my birthday so we could go out to eat and when I came home I found Kandance sleeping peacefully in Sam's arms...so cute I had to take a pic

What a stud

I found these pictures the other day when I was scrapbooking and thought they'd look great on my blog when I posted about Todd's bday. I'm not even going to mention the fact that its my birthday today. :) Its all about Todd. :)
The first picture is of my gma Foulger, Todd & my dad (Look at that dark hair!) before Todd left for his mission to Russia. I love this pictures--my grandma was always such a huge support to our family and always wanted to be a part of everything. I love her. The other picture, well, I have no explanation. Maybe Todd will leave a comment and tell us what he's doing.
Happy birthday to a great brother, son, husband, father and friend. Hope you have a great day! I love you!

too many polka dots?? lol

Michael finished his last final today and this is HUGE, because he's done, AND he's a college graduate! Now that he'll have more time on his hands you'd think he'd shave that beast of a beard he has, but probably not. I really wanted Michael to walk, wear the cap & gown, take lots of cheesy pics, the whole bit, but he would have none of it. Anyway, I'm way excited because Michael is done with school and we can spend more time together, AND my dad's coming this weekend AND its mother's day Sunday, which is now one of my favorite days of the year. :) Michael probably hates it when this time of year rolls around because my bday and moms day are so smooshed together. :) Such is life.

Spring has sprung...finally

I remember looking at this tree outside my sliding glass door a couple weeks ago thinking it would never get leaves again, and finally they're starting to bud.
I think its officially spring in Laramie. Wew hoo! The grass is green, there are beautiful buds on the trees and when it rains it doesn't turn to snow! Michael & Stetson went with Matthew to Lovell last weekend to help with cows. It was nice to have a little break and quiet around here but I missed them like crazy and was really happy when they were back.

her eyelashes have gotten so long! i love it!

send me your addy, I'm going private

Home alone

So Michael, Matthew & Stetson are headed to the Basin right now to help with cows so that means it's a girl's weekend for Kandace and I. She hasn't told me yet if she wants to do pedicures or facials--we'll have to talk about it when she wakes up. :) The house is certainly quiet--I'm excited about having so much free time. I'm going to clean the fridge tomorrow, and I need to think of some other project that I couldn't normally do with a little Stetson running around. I have to take advantage!!
