Mustang Days 2010

Yesterday I (6.25.10) took the kids to family fun night...which wasn't all that fun. Well Stetson and Kandace enjoyed it, but it was a lot of work going solo since Michael didn't get home from work 'til 7, and it was SO HOT!! Stetson LOVED the "bouncy" thing and could have played in it all day but was good about coming out when his turn was over, thank goodness. That could have been interesting. After that we came home and got ready for the bbq...Michael did some yard work including mowing the lawn...he tried to do it with the kids on his lap as illustrated but it was harder than it looked so the kids came inside with me while I cooked.

The next morning was the day of the parade!! It ended up raining a little, which was actually a welcome change from every other year when its blazing hot on parade day...after the parade we came home, had our bbq which ended up being fun and less work that I'd anticipated (always a good thing) and then we were lucky enough to go to Horseshow bend with Christian & Jill on her parent's very nice boat. It was so nice!! I thorougly enjoyed myself ...skiing, the beautiful scenery, the sun, and being with my kiddos who had a really good time. After our turn on the boat we took the kids to the beach area and let them play in the sand for a while. ...and there are a plethora of pictures to illustrate our fun day.

Boogie Woogie

I was asked to get some girls together to sing the "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" for the follies this year. I was so pumped. I called my buddy Austin because she'd sung it before and she suggested we call Nancy for the 3rd part. We started practicing in March and thought the harmonies sounded pretty good..we added a trumpet and bass last minute and that definitely added to it, but unfortunately the piano couldn't be "miched" so we could hardly hear it when we performed on stage and had a hard time getting in sync with the piano since our intro was soo short..sort of frustrating since we put so much into this, but oh well!! It was fun and I hope everyone enjoyed it, because wearing these ugly green suits was not my favorite thing I've ever done. :) I love Mustang days because it brings a community together and its just fun and exciting!

We had Asay family pics tomorrow. So fun. :) Can't wait to see how they turn out.

Tomorrow after the parade we're havin family over for a bbq.

swimming lessons

This is a horrible picture, but Stetson had his last day of swimming lessons today and I forgot my camera so I took a picture with my phone. Stetson is so unpredictable..the first 2 days he was SO excited and I pretty much had to hold him back from getting in the water before it was time..but on Wednesday (lessons started mon) he acted like he didn't want to get him and I had to just leave him there on the deck and then one of the lifeguards or teachers would pull him in, but once he was in he loved it (this went on for the rest of the session)! Anyway, I just want him to be happy and have a great time. He has to repeat the class, but its pretty typical to repeat the toddler class a few times.
We've been staying so busy this sumer...between swimming lessons, story time, rehearsals for the follies, we're running here and there quite a bit but I'm looking forward to things slowing down. We're meeting some friends at the kiddie pool today and I'm looking forward to that.

My-New-Life

I saw this on LDS.org today and wanted to share it..it really changes your outlook on life.

visitors!

On Friday we had some visitors! Todd & Emily went on the stake youth conference trek so we got to help babysit. It was actually one of the nicest days I've had in a while! Zach & Ben are 7 and 5, so they were old enough to help me out and watch the kids (which was a real treat). They actually each pushed a stroller to the park so I didn't have to..that was really nice. Zach, Ben, Stetson & Kandace are all 2 years apart (7, 5, 3 &1) so I got a taste of what it'd be like to have 4 kids 2 years apart.
In the morning we made some great creations with sidewalk chalk, blew bubbles, and had a picnic in the park. After the park we came home, played hide and go seek until Michael came home, then it was off to the farm. We saw baby lambs, chickens, and rode with Michael & Daniel to do some irrigating. Zach & Ben even had their boots!
