Well Marc 15th arrived, sooner than I'd anticipated and everyone was excited to go on our long awaited trip to the Sunny State! Our flight from Billings didn't leave until mid afternoon so we left our house late morning, had lunch at pizza hut in Laurel, went to our friend's the Jacobsens because they took us to the airport. We were a little nervous first getting checked in that something was going to go wrong and since neither one of us had flown in a while but it all worked out fine.
Our first layover was in Portland, Oregon. That airport was huge! The kids all did really great for the flights. It was the first time flying for the girls (and you could say Stetson too because he was a baby when he flew) so it was fun to see their reactions when the plan took off. They also loved getting a snack and beverage of their choice for each flight. It was so fun to finally be going and to be in different places experiencing new things with my family!

Pinewood derby
Stetson's last pinewood derby was in January. He and Michael made the car for the most part. I had to jump in and do a few things since Michael is gone so much for work but it turned out pretty cool even if it wasn't very fast. :) I am always proud of Stetson for having a good attitude even when his car loses. When I'm watching the races I get that mama bear protective feeling I guess I could call it and wish we'd tried harder to make it a fast car instead of just getting it done.
Kandace's baptism
Kandace was baptized on her birthday, February 10, 2017 by her dad who she adores! Michael was on call that night so it was a hectic day since he was gone the entire day minus the 2 hours for the baptism. It seems like around Christmas I started looking for dresses online for Kandace. I was so excited/nervous for her big day. Its so fun having a girl and doing things like this for her. After her dress came we took some pictures for her invitation to send to our family.
I feel like we spent a lot of time talking to Kandace about baptism leading up to her special day and I don't know how much of it sunk in but in little ways I see her knowledge of the gospel sprouting and I hope and pray that the Holy Ghost is a great blessing in her life and that she learns to recognize it and listen to its still small voice.
Aaron Workman conducted, Susan McArthur played piano, Renee Asay led music, prayers were by aunts Jill and Emily, talks were by gpa Simmons and gma Asay and Kandace sang "My Heavenly Father love me."
Kandace is so lucky to have a great support system of family and friends that love her.
Family and friends were SO generous with special gifts and treats for her. I think she had a pretty awesome day and felt really loved.
