Piano

Stetson and Kandace have a great piano teacher, Carole Allison.  She's awesome on lots of levels.  A friend of mine, Annie Rice, takes her kids there so that's how I heard about her and Annie knows Carole better and has told me some things she's been through but she is ALWAYS chipper, happy and kind.  She's patient with the kids and me, even when we lose music and don't practice as well as we should. I do know her only daughter died a few years ago, and she lives alone, but she reaches out to others, she's even a foster grandparent at Poly Drive Elementary. She's a great example to me.

Norm's island

On memorial day, we went to hike Norm's Island, which is a 2 mile loop by Riverfront park.  It was the perfect hike for us, no hills and lots of opportunity to stop and throw rocks in the river. After that we were going to all go to Scheels but Stahle fell asleep in the car, so I took the 3 oldest in by myself while dad and Stahle stayed in the car.  We rode the ferris wheel, walked around and played in the jungle gym.  That evening we went to Jacobsen's for a bbq.

Stroke development

A couple of weeks ago, Stetson and Kandace took stroke development at the YMCA.  Its the class meant to prepare kids for the swim team, which I thought might be a great thing for the kids to join, especially for Stetson, who doesn't love other sports.  They've made some small improvements and they're actually taking it again for the 2nd session.  I'm anxious for them to become stronger in the water.
