swimming lessons 2012

Simming lessons are over! could I get an allelujia chorus here??  Stetson was in level 1 and Kandace in the toddler class.  They both did AWESOME and passed each of their levels. They both really surprised me with how brave they were and how much they went under water without reservations.  They are turning into a couple of little fish.  Since today was the last day they got to dive for coins and Kandace was in heaven.  The teacher held the coins far enough under water so that Kandace had to go under and she did it with enthusiasm and put her collected coins on the side of the pool each time she caught one.

the teachers this year were great and made it really fun for the kids

everyone loves a parade

Michael had to work on parade day which was a bummer but the kids had a ball.  They did awesome during the parade and for the short walk there and back.  It was way hot, so after the parade we grabbed some pizza and went to the whale pool.  Stetson & Kandace could spend all day at the whale pool (which is pretty much how long we always stay anyway) but Janelle is done after an hour or so but its hard to pull the big kids away when they're having so much fun.  Some of best childhood memories are of swimming and summer fun with cousins at the pool.

My pictures of the parade are pretty lame sauce this year.  This is uncle Jacob in the state football championship football team float.  Jacob u are so awesome!! :)

family FUN night

Family fun night was awesome this year!  We got there at about 6, had our hotdogs & chips then took the kids around to the booths.  Stetson & Kandace always love the bouncy house the best, so I think we stood in line for that one 3 times.  The line for face paintings was the longest but it's always Kandace's favorite.
Michael and Daniel always hard at work

Kandace takes face paintings very seriously

gIrL's DaY!

here we are at the eatery
On this day I took my girl to Cody for some fun.  First stop was at Alicia's where I got some pampering and Kandace got all her little fingernails painted.  She is not shy at all.  I was under the dryer during this but I could hear Kandace across the room specifically requesting special colors per fingernail.  She is all girl this one is.  I'd brought crayons, coloring books & snacks to keep her busy but she got a little restless at the end.  After that we went to the eatery, which is a sandwich shoppe in Cody I'd heard good things about.  It was o.k.  I got a ham & swiss sandwich to share wtih Kandace and a spinach salad.  Kandace wasn't a fan of the spicy honey mustard on the sandwich so we got her some nuggets at Wendy's.  I had a Wal-mart list so we headed there and on the way out I couldn't help myself past the pedicure spot so pedicure it was!

Kandace sat on my lap during the pedicure and put her little toes in the water and LOVED it.  Later she played with the massage chair remote.  It feels SO good to get a pedicure.  I didn't have my first pedicure 'til I was in my mid twenties and I am HOOKED.  LOVE them.

I think things worked out pretty good for miss Kandace lol
After Wal-mart we his Sierra trading post and dairy queen for a mini blizzard for me and a vanilla cone for Kandace.  Looking forward to many more special days like these with my girls.

last game

Stetson's last t-ball game was on Monday.  It was in Cowley--those in attendace were gpa Simmons, gma Asay, Charlene, Ian & all of Christian & Jill's fam.  Stetson informed me a couple days ago that his favorite part of t-ball was hitting the ball and running.  Sounds fun to me!

Father's day

So for like the last few months whenever I'm laying in bed and can't sleep, I'd be thinking of little riddles that would be fun for a father's day scavenger hunt for Michael.  Between t-ball, sharing time and a hundred other things I was trying to remember, I forgot about it until the day of, so I put it together quick and it was a hit.  The kids LOVE it!  Stetson goes crazy for games of any sort, and scavenger hunts are not exception.  Happy father's day Michael, we love you.

Michael's final clue led to his "prize" which was $ for a GPS, jalapeno sun chips and sweet n hot jerkey.  Michael loves hot stuff but I don't buy it often because I don't like hot stuff so we tried to surprise him with something he likes.
Happy Father's day to my dad.  I love you forever.  Thank you for the many, many things you have done for me and continue to do for me and my family.  You are the best dad in the world!!

Saturday

Stetson had his 2nd to last t-ball game last Saturday and his end of the year party.  We have loved watching Stetson play this year and think he is one cute t-ball player!!  If this experience in t-ball is any indication of what kind of athlete he'll be, I'd say he's similar to how I was--mostly timid and not very aggressive.  My dad (and others) would get after me in high school for not being more aggressive in basketball, especially in rebounding.  My thoughts on the matter were, why would I want to get in that sweaty mess?  If they want the ball that bad, they can have it. lol  I love Stetson and he will be my pride and joy no matter what.

Kandace and her buddy, Catelynn Allen.  These 2 have loved playing together at all the t-ball games since they both have a big brother on the team.  This little girl (Kandace) took about 5 years off my life when she got a bad cut on her chin that looked like it might need stiches).  Luckily we got away with superglue :)

my beautiful baby.  I love you nella

Happy birthday great-grandma Asay

Michael's grandma Mildred Asay turned 96 last week so on Fri night we celebrated with Michael's aunt & uncle, Karin & Fen Simmons, and their son Eric and his wife.  We had a yummy dinner and the boys played horseshoes after.  We love gma Asay and are grateful for her goodness and wonderful example to us.

whale pool fun begins

Summer is in full swing!  I didn't think we'd actually go to the whale pool the day it opened, but we did!  I figued, why not?  My kids are easier to take care of at the whale pool than at home. lol.  The kids love being outside and playing in the water.  I've been trying to devise a summer schedule so that we have some sort of structure and "plan" until school starts.  We're excited for family reunions, swimming lessons, garage sales, more trips to the whale pool, having a good garden (maybe :) and lots more.  We think we know who Stetson has for kindergarten and even though I don't know her I've heard good things about her and I'm excited for Stetson and great things to come.

Landon!! :)

It seems just like yesterday that Michael and I took Stetson to the whale pool for the first time and we were such proud parents. lol  I can't believe I already have 3 kids and that they're getting so big!  Stetson and Kandace go down the whale pool by themselves and its fun to watch them have such a good time.

cat fishing

Yesterday Michael and I went to see Vocal Point perform in Cody.  They are an acapela singing group from BYU that was on a TV show (the sing off).  Michael saw it advertised at work and suggested we go and it was excellent!  Last night after we got home we went catfishing on a little spot by the Shoshone river out by Cetco.  The weather was perfect and the kids had a ball.  They were REALLY interested in the little cooler full of minnows.  Jill & Christian brought all the food and we just got to enjoy!  Days like these are one of my favorite parts of summer--enjoying the weather, eating "campfire food" and just being outside.
