Well I would hate for any of you to lose sleep tonight wondering what we're having, so I'll put your mind at ease...we don't know! First they said it was a girl, then they said it was a boy. They said in a month we'll have a better idea.

Bonfire

We had a little bonfire out by happy jack road yesterday. We had hotdogs, chips, s'mores and pop. Yum-O. You can't beat hot dogs (that is if you're a hot dog lover like I am). The scenery was beautiful, the trees are starting to change colors and I love that. Stetson had a good time, too. He liked picking up sticks off the ground and poking things with them. The only down side was when Michael was changing Stetson's diaper on the trunk and it started pouring rain (poor Stetson). Luckily Joel came to the rescue with an umbrella and covered him 'til Stetson was done being changed. I got called today to be the primary secretary. I like being so close to the nursery room so I can go get a quick glimpse of Stetson playing every now and then. I can't tell you how proud I feel when I peak through the window and see him sitting on his chair at the table eating his snacks. So cute. Well here's more pics of our fun bonfire.
It was so cute to watch Stetson just plop himself down in this chair and eat his graham cracker. I wish we could find him one like it for cheap.

Where did the time go?

So this will be another boring post if you just like the pictures, but I have to say I can't believe fall is upon us. Stetson and I met up with Michael on campus and enjoyed lunch on the grass in perfect weather. As I was watching other students enjoying the nice weather in shorts and sandals, I wondered if I was the only one thinking how much we longed for days like this when it was March and then we complain when its like 70 F. I better enjoy it while it lasts!

Fun stuff

So, Stetson is sleeping and I'm not much in the mood for doing anything so I'll give you an update! We're coming home not this weekend but the next and I'm ridiculously excited about it. Let me tell you why: #1, I love getting to spend 6 hours straight with the ones I love (yeah Stetson gets hard sometimes but its a lot better thanks to DVD players). #2: We always stop at Burger King in Riverton on the way to eat and bad for me or not, I LOVE fast food and don't eat it very often so its a treat when we do. #3: I love seeing family. #4: We're going to help with cows and I always enjoy that, crazy as it sounds, but its become one of my favorite things to do and I have some of my BEST memories doing it--I just love being with Michael and his family and seeing the pretty scenery I guess (and Jan always brings yummy food).
#5: I don't have to cook for a whole weekend. Well there you have it.

Well thats my exciting news. On kind of a bummer note, we were psyched because we thought we were going to get into a 3 bdrm apt. (Joel & Sarah's because they moved into a 4 bdrm) with new baby coming and all but it turned out we were "misinformed" and we're still on the waiting list.

Stetson is saying a lot more these days, even if I can't understand most of it. :) He does say "leez" which is "please" and "no" has become a favorite of his, and pretty much anything we say he can repeat if we ask him to. Oh, and his favorite show to watch is Dora, but he calls it "day-cha" with a big emphasis on the "cha." Its really cute.

Lastly, am I the only one way excited about fall? I always get really anxious for spring once March comes (doesn't everyone?) and wish it were summer all year long, but I do love the seasons and I get giddy when I see the Halloween decorations in the Wal-mart aisle. Stetson and I even browsed around the other day and found some cute "Treat bags" to put goodies in and take to someone. I ended up teaching Relief Society last Sunday so I filled the baggies with pumpkin cookies (thanks for the Recipe Tracy). I have to just say how great my husband is though, because it was like 15 min. before we were supposed to leave for church and my baggies still weren't filled so not only did he help me bake the cookies, but he put the twisties on my baggies, got Stetson dressed, found a big bag for me to put all my little baggies in, and more things I'm forgetting. He always saves me when I find myself in a crunch because I didn't plan my time very well. YUB YOU HONEY!!!!

Vote Barrasso

So Michael and Matthew went to the tail gate party this morning to "campaign" and got these nifty little shirts. They also got to shake Mike Enzi's hand (U.S. senator). I had to include a picture of our family too, because today is the first time Stetson and I have made it through a whole football game! Yee ha (I'm glad we did, too because it was a great game)!

Oh baby!

I had my second Dr. appt. today. I always get excited for these because I love to hear the heart beat, talk to doc to make sure everything's on track and just have that peace of mind for another few weeks. I remember when I was this far along with Stetson, it was weird because I didn't "feel" pregnant because I couldn't feel the baby move nor did I look pregnant. I feel that same way now.

Anyway, When the nurse was taking my blood pressure she said that during this time they offer an optional screening for birth defects through a blood draw. I asked if it was recommended and if there was anything I could do about it if I WERE diagnosed and she said to talk to doc. so I did and after a lengthy conversation about it I decided not to. I am such a worry wart!! With Stetson I worried CONSTANTLY and even when we had our first ultra sound where they can check things about and give you peace of mind about a lot of things, I STILL found things to worry about. I read so much, like about toxoplasmosis (you can get it from cats) and we had one that was outdoor, but I STILL worried so much that I got tested for it and I HATE needles. I've been feeling grateful though for Stetson and the healthy baby he is. I get more excited about this baby every day and can't wait to feel him move and feel reassured every day. In 3 weeks we have our "big ultra sound" as doc put it. A friend at story time asked me today if I was going to find out the sex and I said "well when we found out with Stetson, they told us it was a girl, so..... we'll see." Michael is ALL about finding out, but surprisingly enough, I kind of want a surprise.

Thanks Grandpa & Grandma!!

Dear Grandpa & Grandma Asay,
That package couldn't have come at a better time! I'd just woken up from my nap and needed a little "pick me up!"
I love you!! Thank you!

Stetson

Let me introduce you

to Mr. Independent. One of the most exciting things about being a mom is being able to witness the many milestones your child reaches. Well Stetson's latest is independence. He likes to do things himself more and more, especially feeding himself. Michael actually should get most of the credit because instead of giving Stetson a bowl of food and a spoon and saying, "have at it" (which Michael did so that Stetson COULD learn how to feed himself) the control freak in me wouldn't have it--I wanted to feed him myself to avoid a mess. Michael kept saying, "he's never gonna get it if you don't let him try." Stetson is getting better, thankfully, but there were days we just had to sit and watch him try so hard to do it himself when he really didn't quite have the motor skills to do it, (he could get the food on the spoon but it'd fall off by the time it reached his mouth) but when we tried to help him he'd refuse, SO it was frustrating to say the least AND you can imagine the mess.:)
Today he had spaghetti for lunch and its a relief to see him catch on, and crazy all at the same time because it seemed like the day would never come. My boy is growing fast.

squirrel hunt

So, Saturday was a fun-filled day for Michael for SURE. It started at 8 am when him, Matthew, Joel Robertson & Adam Erickson went on wild squirrel hunt. AND THEY ATE IT!! I know, I guess its normal to some of you, but not to me. Anyway, after that they all went to the Airforce/UW game then we hung out over here and had pizza. Fun stuff. Well here's more pics to prove it
Anyone hungry yet?
Joel hard at work
So this is all I have to show for being 17 wks prego. Pretty pathetic. No doubt I'll get bigger in NO time though. :)

Farmer's market

Some of my most vivid childhood memories are of the Thursday night Farmer's market in Santa Rosa, CA. If there was one thing my mom loved, it was the farmer's market, and we were faithful attenders. I can still smell the fresh goat cheese, HUGE drumsticks, caramel apples and hear the crazy loud music playing. But maybe the most entertaining part of it all was watching all the crazy Californians walking down the street. :) Anyway, we went to the Laramie Farmer's market tonight and bought some kettle corn and corn on the cob.
Cheesin' (Matthew bought Charlene flowers...how cute)

Bike rides, new baby and Labor day fun

Michael took Stetson on a little bike ride this afternoon while I made chili. Its a new recipe, and I'm pretty excited to see how it turns out. PLUS, Stetson has a new cousin, Travis Foulger Asay. Now Michael and I have TWO Travis nephews and Stetson and 2 Travis cousins. I'm pretty excited! We saw a pic of him on our phone and he is pretty dang cute, so we're excited to see him in real life. Whenever I see a new baby I feel so happy that we're expecting one of our own soon.

We had a fun Labor Day weekend. Me, Michael, Matthew & Charlene (and Stetson) went to Cheyanne and went to my 2 favorite places in the WORLD: Ross and Olive Garden. Plus the mall to get me and Charlene's rings cleaned. Can I just say that ever since I've been prego I have been craving Olive Garden Soup & salad non stop. All I have to do is think about it and I start salivating. Yumm... Matthew & Charlene went to Target and used some of their wedding gift cards while Michael and I went to Ross where I got a new maternity shirt, one regular shirt (I still have time, right?? :) and an EXTRA large nike "work-out" shirt for my step/weights class I'll start teaching next Tuesday night. I'm excited but anxious about people's reactions when they see their instructor is large with child. :)
